Café Del Mundo
Southern Germany · 2010s – present
Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian met at a workshop dedicated to the work of Paco de Lucía and have performed together as Café Del Mundo for more than a decade. Both classically trained, they describe their sound as “hörbar grenzenlos” — audibly without borders — weaving flamenco puro through Argentinian tango, contemporary classical and jazz.
The duo has recorded at Abbey Road, toured internationally and collaborated with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on their Symphonic projects. Their discography spans albums including Beloved Europa, Sofa Songs, Merry Guitar Christmas and the acclaimed GuitaRevolution Symphonic.
Live, Café Del Mundo is a masterclass in two-guitar dialogue — rapid-fire falsetas, spacious melody, and long lyrical passages that reward close listening. Critics have praised the pair as “the compelling dialogue of two gifted virtuosos”.
